My first memory of visiting Kasol reminds me of a pine tree that I came across. There was nothing special about it except a huge, leafy, trunk.
This time around when I got back to Kasol, I looked out for the same tree. It was somehow taller, and the trunk was covered with these beautiful leaves. Had to have a shot of it.
Dal Lake in Srinagar is a city in itself. With house boats and shikaras all around, the lake is a place which never settles down. From restaurants to jewelers, everyone comes to you on a shikara.
However, the main populace of the lake is water lilies. Endless stretches of these leaves can be found in every direction on the lake.
Shot this picture early in the morning.
We were riding through the foothills towards Srinagar. This was around the first rest break, at a place called Kathua. I had my camera ready for some portraits, when I noticed this branch coming out of the bushes. It was almost like an extension of the bushes, coming out to greet Hello. I liked the shot after coming back home.
Jim Corbett National Park is known for its beautiful and dense jungles. I was set out to get a glimpse of the animals of the National Park, but I came back with no sightings. After parking the car at the resort, I found this beautiful shot staring at me. I wasted no time and got out the tripod and shot the sunset against this tree.
I feel that I somehow captured the essence of the Kumaoni jungle int his picture.
While getting back from Rishikesh, in the March of 2017, we stopped the car near this beautiful field. This particular detour to Dehradun has many such fields. The weather was perfect, the light of the sun was beautiful and I just walked into the muddy field to click this one.
Almora and the surrounding areas in Kumaon region are a never ending galore of pine trees. I was looking for a good pine cone from the ones that have fallen down. I ended up reaching this particular pine tree and was immediately struck by it’s beauty. For a moment, I stopped doing everything and looked around. It was like art, each single bark was unique, rugged and beautifully textured. How could I miss shooting it?
Our car broke down while going from Sanyudiyar Village to Bageshwar. There was this carpet of flowers and leaves nearby. Grabbed this shot while waiting for the car to get fixed. A lucky shot.
